Season 1, Episode 5
Grylls is dropped by helicopter at the top of Mount Kilauea. Made up of an expanse of solidified lava which stretches for 33,000 acres, this environment is one of the world's most inhospitable. He first traverses lava fields, which catch his boots on fire, then heads into the jungles of Hawaii. Grylls uses a kukui nut torch to explore a lava tube and finds water, then uses smoke to placate a bee hive to get honey. Ultimately, he finds the sea (and people) by following seabirds.
My Name Is Earl
Season 2, Episode 9
Earl tackles number 146 on his list. He decides to make 274 bologna sandwiches for Kenny because he stole them from him in school when they were kids. While delivering the sandwiches, Earl moves onto a new mission, to teach Kenny how to gamble but has trouble stopping. Joy goes to group therapy for her anger management issues.

J.D. addresses the news that he is going to be a father and Dr. Cox is worried about how his anger is going to impact his offspring. Meanwhile, Carla and Turk prepare for the impending arrival of their new baby. Elliot feels left out because she is childless, while the Janitor wonders if he has wasted his life.

Angela and Kevin were trying to figure out where extra money in the budget came from. Jan let them know it was money Dunder-Mifflin received for hiring an ex-convict. Michael swore he never hired an ex-convict. Jan informed him that the person must have come from the merger.

In Memphis, a gas station clerk is shot in an armed robbery. The clerk hits the store's panic button, locking his killer inside. Moments later, the clerk dies from his wounds. When Sgt. Kevin Lundy arrives on the scene, the store is sealed, with no way out, and the killer is gone. The team must track down a killer who seems to have disappeared into thin air. In Miami, Det. Rolly Garcia is investigating the murder of a nine-year-old girl who was killed while playing outside her house. The detectives believe that she was caught in a shootout between two men. They must rely on witnesses among the outraged members of the community to point them toward their suspects.

Recent events strain Burke and Cristina's relationship. Mark and Derek must work together when two close-knit brothers seek medical help. One of Meredith's half sisters is admitted to the hospital.

Ash and co. finally arrive at Jubilife City, the first stop in Dawn's quest to be a great coordinator. It is there that she learns of a new fad. It's hip, it's hot, it's happenin' it's the Pokétch and, like all girls, Dawn has to have one. She gets one from three clowns only to find out from a smart little boy named Landis that it is a fake. Will she be able to get a real Pokétch, or will she be a trend loser?

When Taylor learns about Ryan's sleeping problems she devises a plan to help him but must then turn to Kaitlin when her plan backfires. At Brown Summer and Che step up their activism and it lands them more freedom than imagined. Julie also gets help from Kaitlin to help save the dating service.

While everyone at Mode is celebrating Christmas, Betty is questioning her relationship with Walter and the feelings she has for Henry. Meanwhile, Daniel is sure of his love for Sofia, and Amanda, in order to get Betty's position, is planning a perfect Mode holiday party that fills the office with Styrofoam snow and holiday wishes.

When the police are no help with Ames, Kovac decides to confront the problem himself; Morris and other doctors work on a patient with an ice pick in his ear. Meanwhile, Ray tries to keep his new relationship a secret and Pratt can't fully deal when his half-brother officially comes out. Also, a new male nurse arrives.
